BLAST inks major licensing deal – TV2 Denmark to broadcast BLAST Premier in 2020

BLAST, a leading global esports entertainment company, and TV2 Denmark have expanded and renewed their licensing deal. The deal was signed following a hugely successful weekend at BLAST Copenhagen, with more than 12,000 fans present in the sold-out Royal Arena.

TV2 Denmark broadcast the entire tournament live on TV2/Zulu from their own studio in the arena. The show, which was broadcast globally to 135 territories in 20 languages, was also streamed on TV2 Play, TV2’s online streaming platform.

As part of the renewal agreement TV2 acquires the exclusive Danish rights to BLAST Premier, a world-class Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) series that features the world’s best teams, 300 hours of content and a $4.25 million USD prize pool. Under the terms of the deal, which was brokered by Lagardere Sports, TV2 will broadcast the content on TV2 Zulu and its online platform TV2 Play.

TV2 will be broadcasting BLAST Premier in 2020

Alexander Lewin, VP, Programming and Distribution, BLAST:
– We are delighted to be partnering once more with TV2, offering more premium content than ever to a Danish audience. The TV2 team is at the forefront of esports entertainment globally, and keeps pushing the boundary of CS:GO to the mainstream – providing the perfect home for BLAST Premier.

Allan Hvid, Editor in Chief, TV2 Sporten:
– We’re happy that we’ve extended a very good relationship with BLAST and we’re looking forward to transmitting from BLAST Premier in 2020. With the new tournament format, I believe our transmissions will be even more unique and our ambitions are always to bring the atmosphere from the arenas to our audience in Denmark.
